So, for the past five years or so, the Stargate SG-1 has been using the P-90 Sub-Machine Gun as their weapon of choice, as has the Atlantis expedition. But since Stargate: Destiny takes place in 2015, we, ok I figure that more futuristic weapons should be used. So, the weapon I've decided that the Destiny teams should use is the M8 Assault Rifle. There are three configurations of the weapon: the Sub-Machine Gun/PDW, the Light Machine Gun/SAW, and the Sharpshooter/Sniper configuration. The main differences between each of the configurations are 1. The barrel length (which can be easily adjusted) and 2. The magazine capacity and design The sniper and SMG configurations can be fitted with a 30-round ammuntion magazine with a spare magazine on the side (as seen in the sniper configuration pic), and LMG/SAW can be fitted with a 100-round. box Sub-Machine Gun/PDW Configuration (Takeshi carries one of these usually, as would Jonas on a combat mission) Light Machine Gun/Squad Automatic Weapon Configuration (Hemmingway would carry one of these) Sniper Configuration (Tenyris carries one of these when not carrying his bow) As for sidearms, the Destiny teams will use the 9mm Beretta Pistol and the Zatnikatel weapon. Hmm, I think you might have said something about about how the P-90 shouldn't be used anymore, but I don't think you suggested an alternative.

We need its sister project, this handy little automatic grenade launcher. And by little I mean huge and by grenade launcher I mean boom. The XM29 has an 6 shot grenade magazine and an undeslung sub machine gun which fires 5.56mm standard NATO rounds.

I hate the way the grenade launcher looks, personally, but I don't know.
My favorite is the SMG configuration. It's something about shortened barrel.

Now THATS what I'm talking about. Altho it is a heavy weapon its got so many uses. That would be awsome to see that gun in either SG-1 or Atlantis episodes. #smile11#

How about they use them on combat missions only. When the firepower is needed.
