Vala Maldoran delivers a stone tablet to the StarGate Command which has a series of glyphs inscribed upon it - which appear to make no sense. But Daniel Jackson realises that the glyphs are StarGate chevrons - but not as they appear from Earth, as they appear from a planet in the Taurus Expanse.
General O'Neill asks that the latest SGC Daedalus Class vessel, the Hyperion, be prepared for immediate departure to the Taurus Expanse where they are to investigate the mysterious planet at the location given by the decoded chevrons.
Three weeks later, the Hyperion launches ... www.freewebs.com/survivor3000/hyperion%20pilot.pdfThis is the beginning of the pilot - any feedback you can give would be appreciated.

Quite enjoyed it, few hicups with the format though, actions included in speech and for some reason you didnt fill in the title page?

I haevn't finished it all yet, but it's good so far. Some parallels between it and Avalon, Part 1, but pretty good. I also thought the title page thing was weird.

Yeah - am still struggling to figure out how to include the proper title page. My copy of Final Draft is being pissy about adding them.
The comparison to Avalon pt 1 - it's intentional and there are tips of the hat to that episode with them asking whether it's just her looking for a treasure and whether it's all nonsense again.

Now one thing I do have a gripe with is the same thing I told Geoff about Destiny. There is a treaty regarding Antartica that would prevent things such as weapons and ships being built there, hell they shouldnt even be any weapons on antartica!

Hate to seem like a know-it-all, but the US doesn't actually recognise that treaty - it doesn't actually recognise any land claims on Antarctica.
So, in theory, it could work - however, we can always explain it away that the countries who claim territory in the Antarctic have all signed a new treaty to allow the construction of mutual defense ships there. Heck, the Hyperion could be the first one - since it's supposed to be the first ship to carry a multi-national crew and not just have multi-national civilian scientists on it.

Been revising the first two acts before I write the entire thing and have to revise everything because it's out of whack with the ideas.
I've added a scene to introduce Collins where we get a bit of his backstory - and he gets recruited for the job.
And tossing round a few ideas for the pre-titles concept that would be cool.
Also trying to create a credit sequence for the show but it's taking some time to edit the video to the music !

Personally I'd concentrate on getting the pilot done. Two parter?

But, but, but... i wanted the destiny to be the first one... well, we could always talk about fitting SGHp into the SGD unvierse.

It's a one hour pilot - it works at that length and won't be padded out with extra material, just like the first season as a whole.
