Premired in 2004, this sci-fi show is a spin-off of the hit series Stargate SG-1. It parallels its sister-series, and began premiring with SG-1's eighth season. It stars Joe Flannagan as Lt. Colonel John Sheppard (who began in Season 1 as a major), and Torri Higginson as Dr. Elizabeth Weir, and takes place in the Ancient city of Atlantis, located in the Pegasus galaxy. Atlantis is now in its second season. It, like SG-1 is a great sci-fi show! Talk all about it here.

I love this series, I enjoy Atlantis's first season better than SG1s and from the transcripts ive read of the newer seasons I also enjoy Season2 more than SG1-S9!

Yes, I think the first season was great. But then again, they had seven years of experience before starting off Atlantis, so that may have helped it just a bit  . I really think that whole ending arc of the first season was great. It was pretty dramatic in places, and the Siege Part 2 was the pinnacle, I think. (Great Battles, too) |

Yeah, well the arc doesn't end at the end of S1. You've still got Part 3, and Intruder, which is still kind of part of that arc.

My current favorite episodes are HOTZONE, RISING, HOME, RUNNER,THE SIEGE arc, CONDEMNED, INSTINCT and the upcoming AURORA episode, that has inspired Stargate Icarus.

The whole ending arc of season 1 was great. Before that, Stargate never really had an arc where the characters were just basically waiting to die.

The darker Oh no we're alone and if something goes wrong we don't have Earth to help us, is a nice touch. But it's also good to be able to call them for more long term help. Overall, Atlantis rocks!

;DWhat none of you like Aurora. I heard it from Gateworld, that's how i found Destiny. Actually, Icarus was inspired by Hot Zone, i'll tell you why later. Aurora, when i heard about that I said we don't need an Icarus-class Earth battlecruiser, but what we need is a big honkin' Ancient destroyer. that's what i'm takin' 'bout

Wait, how did you find out about Destiny from gateworld? And let me guess. This enemy, the Numen, are the people who made those nanobots. what if Atlantis decides to revisit that? (Assuming that is, that I'm right)
